Shoppers in the South Dakota area considering a premium EV have options. One of the most highly recommended models is the exciting and stylish BMW iX. But how does it stack up against rivals from Tesla and Audi? Luxury Auto Mall of Sioux Falls is here to help show you the differences.

BMW iX vs. Tesla Model X

Despite both of these vehicles being considered premium and luxury, the BMW iX consistently receives higher marks for quality inside and out. Unfortunately, quality and fit/finish issues are well publicized on the Tesla Model X. Some drivers might find the BMW iX to have a more intuitive interface, too, thanks to a combination of easy-to-use voice commands, touchscreen controls, and real buttons – which the Tesla lacks. The BMW iX is also the only one that offers Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto® compatibility – it's even wireless.

Otherwise, the two boast similar features, performance, and pricing. Their base MSRPs are only around $8,000 apart, and both offer incredible acceleration. Similarly, both offer over 300 miles of range.

BMW iX vs. Audi Q8 e-tron

The biggest question on many shoppers' minds when considering an EV is, "How much range does it have?" The Q8 e-tron generally lacks in that department, but improves for the 2024 model year, offering up to 296 miles on a full range. The iX beats that range by ten miles while also offering significantly better performance. The BMW iX has 516 horsepower as standard, while the fastest Audi Q8 e-tron variant makes just 402 horsepower.

The BMW iX further dominates the Audi Q8 e-tron when considering the interior situation. The iX offers more cargo space than the Audi – regardless of which body style you choose - with the rear seats up or down. Both come with similar equipment, too – like wireless phone connectivity, a beautiful moonroof, and app integration. However, the BMW iX is better in almost every single measurable way.
