With vehicle technology evolving at a rapid pace, many drivers may overlook the electronic work that goes into repairing a vehicle after an accident, even the minor ones. ABRA Auto Body is here to provide needed ADAS Calibrations.

There are sensors on the vehicle that provide safety and convenience features to drivers, but if those sensors have been hit, knocked or taken off at any point, they probably need to be calibrated to operate properly. Common sensors include parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, lane departure system, front radar sensors (active cruise control) and more.

When taking a vehicle to an independent bodyshop they may not have the proper equipment to complete the calibration. We find it to be very common that the damage repair is being completed, but no sensors are being calibrated afterwards. Issues come up when driving after leaving. For example, the blind spot monitoring system is sensing the vehicles as being either in your blind spot or not, but that is not the actual case because of distance discrepancies – causing safety concerns.

You will see these calibrations listed on the repair orders and our estimators can explain in detail what was calibrated, and why. We are also able to complete these services on vehicles that have had past repair work completed elsewhere and just need their sensors taken care of. Give us a call to speak with an ABRA estimator, or to schedule an appointment at 605-362-8388. See below for the list of available services.

ADAS Calibrations
  • Front Radar Sensors- Vehicles equipped with active cruise control.  Most manufacturers require calibrations of the front radar sensor if the bumper covers are removed.
  • Lane departure system- Lane departure cameras require calibration if the windshields are replaced.
  • Blind Spot Modules- Some manufacturers require calibration if the rear bumper covers or taillights that are equipped with blind spot modules are removed.  Or, if the quarter panels are repaired.
  • 360 Camera- Some manufacturers require calibration of the 360 cameras when either the front or rear cameras are removed. Or, if the mirrors are removed (if equipped with a camera).
  • Park sensors- If bumper covers are removed or replaced.

*Not programming new modules at this time.
