New BMW EV customers will receive complimentary charging for their 2022 EV for two years. BMW has partnered with Electrify America, the nation’s largest public fast charging network with over 3,000 chargers across the U.S.
With the power of Electrify America’s fast charging, drivers will be able to charge up within 30 minutes. Chargers are able to deliver from 150 kilowatts to 350 kilowatts – the fastest speed available today. This allows BMW drivers to charge 90-108 miles in as little as 10 minutes.
“The collaboration with Electrify America is one more step on our road towards a sustainable future,” said Sebastian Mackensen, president and CEO, BMW of North America. “Charging availability is a key feature when it comes to electric vehicles. We’re excited to offer our customers access to charging that is fast, affordable and convenient, as we launch the next generation of all-electric from BMW.”
The first owners to receive this program will be those choosing the all-electric BMW iX xDrive50, BMW i4 eDrive40 and the BMW i4 M50. There are multiple ways to find the nearest charging station and check availability:
• Utilizing the in-car navigation
• Inside the myBMWapp
• Electrify America app
The collaboration between BMW and Electrify America is much needed as more drivers are becoming welcome to the idea of owning an electric vehicle. The expectation is that BMW’s worldwide sales of EV will rise by 20% annually on average between 2025-2030. This is the start of an important part of BMW’s electric and sustainable future.
